Royal Mail and CWU update

Following several months of talks between Royal Mail and Communication Workers Union, including ACAS facilitation, Royal Mail has shared a best and final offer for pay and change. The revised offer includes extensive improvements that have been made during the negotiations with the CWU, including an enhanced pay deal of 9% over 18 months and a number of other concessions to terms and agreements. The offer is subject to agreeing a programme of change with the CWU.

We’re urging CWU leadership to accept the change and pay offer, call off future damaging strike action, for the good of our customers and our people. We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience the CWU's continued strike action will cause. We are doing all we can to minimise delays and keep people, businesses and the country connected.

  On days when national strike action is taking place:

  • We will deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked 24 parcels as possible
  • We will prioritise the delivery of COVID test kits and medical prescriptions wherever possible
  • We will not be delivering letters (with the exception of Special Delivery) or Door to Door mail
  • We will not be accepting customer handovers of Door to Door contracts at our Walk Bundling Centres

What you can do:

  • Post your items as early as possible in advance of the strike dates 
  • Continue to post your items at Postboxes or Post Offices, however collections will be less frequent on days when strike action is taking place

        Our Normal Services (Outside periods of industrial action)

        For  UK deliveries we use Royal Mail 1st Class Large Letter and Small Parcel services as indicated when you check out. These services are all quoted by Royal Mail as next day (including Saturdays). To help cope with strike days we have now added Royal Mail Special Delivery (prioritised as above) and DHL Express to the shipping options you can choose at checkout to better manage your own delivery outcomes.

        Details of cost and appropriate services will be displayed at checkout.

        Royal Mail 1st Class Large Letter and Small Parcel services will not be tracked. 

        Special Delivery and DHL Express will be tracked.

        Orders before 3pm will normally be fulfilled (made ready for dispatch) and then dispatched at the next available opportunity.

        Delivery to the EU and Rest of the World

        Delivery to the EU 

        Please remember any import duty or tax falling due on your order is your responsibility. We will fill the appropriate CN22 or CN23 Customs Declaration to the outside of your package.

        We use Royal Mail International Standard and International Tracked & Signed Services for European deliveries. These services are quoted by Royal Mail as 3 to 5 working days. Details of cost and appropriate services will be displayed at checkout. In very busy seasons and in inclement weather please allow extra time for your important orders to arrive.

        Rest of the World Delivery

        Please remember any import duty or tax falling due on your order is your responsibility. We will fill the appropriate CN22 or CN23 Customs Declaration to the outside of your package.

        We use Royal Mail International Standard and International Tracked & Signed Services for deliveries to other worldwide destinations. These services are quoted by Royal Mail as 5 to 7 working days. Details of cost and appropriate services will be displayed at checkout. In very busy seasons and in inclement weather please allow extra time for your important orders to arrive.

        International Standard deliveries will not be tracked.

        Tracking numbers for International Tracked & Signed deliveries will be provided via email once your order is shipped.
